This is an introductory textbook in differential equations for students of mathematics, science and engineering with a special stress on mathematical modeling and graphical visualization. Along with the presentation of the basic theory (existence, uniqueness, continuity with respect to the data, fundamental formulas for solutions and fundamental techniques) and with the introduction to numerical solution of differential equations, the book provides a great number of models from three areas: rate processes, electrical circuits and mechanics. From the very beginning the reader is oriented on the investigation of the behavior of solutions to differential equations with the use of computer solvers, any graph in the text can be reproduced with the help of data given, and computer-generated graphical solutions to differential emphasize visual evidence of theoretical deductions. Each section contains problems of different levels of difficulty, some of them require the use of computer solvers, other require joint efforts of a students research team. Written in a lucid and precise manner, the textbook will benefit everyone interested in differential equations, and it provides good reading both for students and specialists with a need in applications of differential equations.
