This book covers the material of a thorough first graduate-level course in complex analysis. It has a very strongly geometric flavour; this results, for instance, in an extended and most readable chapter on conformal mapping and a proper explanation of the connection between the geometric and analytic definitions of winding number. It contains a good supply of worked-out examples for students' benefit, and a wide selection of excellent exercises ranging from very straightforward calculations to the more conceptual and thought-provoking problems; these are particularly valuable features of the book.
