Bibliogr. p. [123]-126. Index
The first part of this book deals with topological dimension. Relations of the property to have topological dimension zero to other topological notions are discussed. In the second part the mean topological dimension of a dynamical system is defined, and its properties are discussed. Some results on the mean topological dimension of certain shift spaces are presented. This book is a nice introduction to the theory of topological dimension for students, provided they are able to understand French. It is well written, and one can follow it easily. Although the book is essentially self-contained, for the second part it is useful to have some previous knowledge of dynamical systems. (Zentralblatt)
