Bibliogr. p. [159]-161

This small book is an introduction to percolation and the Ising model for French graduate students in mathematics, and, apart from the chapter 0 which is the introduction, it comprises three main parts which are successively I (percolation, chapters 2 to 4), II (critical percolation on triangular lattice, chapters 5 and 6), III (FK-percolation and Ising model, chapters 7 to 9) and IV (FK-percolation and Ising model on square lattices, chapters 10 and 11). The main basic topics are covered, but the book does not pretend to be a complete overview, and for instance it does not deal with large deviation. Each chapter ends with a set of problems and some hints are suggested for their solutions. The book is rather in the form of condensed matter and furthermore it may be hard to be read by students who are not accustomed to play with mathematics. There is no index table. But if you have the prerequisite in mathematics and physics it is a nice book for a very good price. (Zentralblatt)
