This monograph deals with the concept of renormalization in dynamical systems from the point of view of group theory. It is divided into an introduction, an overview of every chapter and four chapters. The first two chapters introduce the notion of renormalization and interval renormalization of dynamical systems, and use the concept of itinerary in order to study the interval renormalizations. Chapters III and IV deal with automorphism groups of rooted trees and are essentially group-theoretic. ... (MathSciNet)
