A graduate text in mathematics should be one from which students may readily learn. The present book is such a text. Designed for a one-year (two-semester) course in homological algebra, it covers all of the essentials in an exposition which is clear, precise but not compendious beyond comprehension.
The first part of the book (the authors' division) consists of the first four chapters: (I) Modules, (II) Categories and functors, (III) Extensions of modules, and (IV) Derived functors. ...The second part of the text consists of Chapter V, The Künneth formula, Chapter VI, Cohomology of groups, and Chapter VII, Cohomology of Lie algebras. ...The third and final part of the text consists of Chapters VIII and IX, entitled Exact couples and spectral sequences, and Satellites and homology, respectively. ...
