In the book in hand important progresses of Fourier analysis of singular measures are presented. The techniques rest upon properties of L-spaces and semi-topological semigroups. The study uses also idempotent elements, properties at infinity of Fourier-Stieltjes transforms, Gelfand theory, and many concrete investigations with Riesz products. In the theorems many new informations are given on representing measures by simpler ones, on spectra of measures, on group topologies, on L- ideals, on the behaviour of Fourier-Stieltjes transforms at infinity, and on Riesz products.
